PROOF PRODUCTS

Picture 2
Your proofs are the complete story of your shoot. Whether it's a wedding, a family shoot, an engagement session, or something else, I review every image I shoot, choose a large collection of the ones that best tell the story, polish them up a bit, and give them to you. Those are your proofs: they're your way to see everything.

You have a lot of ways to view the proofs of your shoot. The simplest is an online proof gallery. You can see samples of those in the recent work section of my site. The images are online, which means you can review them from anywhere, and share them with friends and family. They are all numbered with unique numbers to make it easy for you to refer to a specific one if you want to order a print or use that image in an album.

Another great way to view your proofs is on a proof CD. This is simply a CD-R with small and medium resolution (1600 pixels) versions of all your proof images. They're big enough to view, email, put online, use in slideshows, or get prints up to 5x7. If you want something larger, you might consider a full-resolution DVD, which includes extra-large versions of each image, suitable for prints up to 16x20, and a copyright release giving you permission to use them for virtually anything. Whichever one you choose, you'll find the images still follow the same numbering system so that it's very easy to reference the one you want.

Proofbooks 04
But sometimes, you just want something tangible, something you can put on your coffee table or take to grandma's house. That's why I offer proof books as well. Unlike albums, they contain all of the proof images from your shoot, and present them with unbiased equality and simplicity. One popular style is the portable hardcover coffee table proof book, which has glossy pages with the photos actually printed on them so you never have to worry about losing them. At 14 x 11" and about 3/4" thick, they're easy to take to the office or put on a shelf, but with their black leatherette cover and the embossing of your choice on the front, you'll want to keep it on your coffee table for everyone to see. And those handy image numbers are subtly printed below each one for your convenience.

If you really want to see every detail, there's also the heavy 4x6 proof book. These are all of your proofs, printed as 4x6 prints with an artistic border, and put into a durable photo album. The exact style will vary depending on what's available and how many proofs you have, but usually I'll use a simple black one with 5 photos per side, so you can see 10 of them at a time. If you have a lot of proofs, I may even need to make 2 volumes. And yes, the prints will still have the image numbers: they're printed on the back.

Finally, for ultimate flexibility, I offer a 4x6 proof box set. This is all your proofs, printed as 4x6 prints with a border, and delivered in a proof box. Leave them in the box, put them in that cool photo album you found, use them in a scrapbook - the options are yours! Again, the exact style varies based on my suppliers, but I'll pick something that looks nice.
