Jimmy & Erin

Jimmy and Erin have such a cool story!

Their dads were best friends in college, and did everything together.  As a result, their families grew up doing everything together, but a bit more sporadically, as the various parties moved to various parts of the world.  Somehow, Jimmy and Erin never really got to know each other until they met again at a mutual friend’s wedding.  Erin was living in China at the time, and Jimmy in India, so they had a lot in common.  They kept in touch, but officially, their first date involved Erin flying to India to see Jimmy.  The rest is history.

The groomsmen’s air band included a guitar, bass, drums, trombone… and harmonica.  What they lacked in sound, they made up for in style.

Jimmy and Erin, thanks for giving me the opportunity to be your wedding photographer.  I’m excited, and a bit curious, to see where the Lord takes you next.   Blessings!

Jared & Inna

I’ve known Inna for several years, but I’ve never seen her happier than when she’s with Jared.  They’re a great match for each other!

There were so many things I enjoyed about their wedding.  The music was fantastic.  The setting was beautiful.  I love Jewish weddings and the symbolism woven throughout.  And Inna had planned virtually everything, so it was filled with personal touches everywhere.

Check it out!

A mistake that turned into a beautiful story: Someone had forgotten their ketubah, and there was no way to get it before the ceremony started.  So their rabbi sat down and wrote out a new one on the spot, partly from notes, partly from memory, and partly with help from someone’s iPhone.  Ketubot were traditionally handwritten this way, so it was a cool reflection of Jewish history.

The couple graciously invited Rachel and I to a morning-after brunch at the Ritz.  I got to see the original ketubah they had comissioned, too, which was stunning.

Jared & Inna, thanks so much for letting us be a part of your wedding celebration!  It’s been beautiful getting to watch your love for each other grow.  And Rachel and I look forward to that much-awaited game night next time you’re in LA!

The Duncan Family

Almost 2 years ago, Austin and Merilly had me shoot photos of Adeline when she was about 4 months old. Now that their second daughter, Ella, is about the same age, they asked me to come do it again.

I know a lot of photographers have great success getting little kids to smile using things that squeek. So I brought a little squeeky rubber chicken, thinking I was totally prepared. It completely backfired. Adeline wanted to hold it, but once she got her hands on it, she didn’t want anything to do with it. Basically, she just didn’t want me to squeek it. I obviously have a lot to learn about the art of squeeker toys.

Nevertheless, we had a great time, and (I think) got some great photos. Enjoy them for yourself below, and as always, leave a comment with your thoughts!
