If Peace will Come to Myanmar…

When I told people in that I was going to Myanmar in February, most people had to ask where it was. But when 20,000 monks protest in the streets of their capital, and are violently punished for it, it naturally gets the public’s attention…

My trip to Myanmar in February wasn’t to start, support, or even document a revolution. But it was a peacekeeping mission, of sorts. Through ESL, two friends and I helped encourage the work of some local pastors who are teaching the Bible to their own people. These Christian leaders (whose photos I can’t even post here for their own safety) are proclaiming the good news- that man can be reconciled to God. If anything will bring peace to Myanmar, it is that message: because a love for fellow man comes from accepting the love of God.
