The first time I heard Nathan’s name, it was at church, when people mistakenly thought I was him. When he and I finally met, we learned that he had been having the same thing happen a lot. (Apparently, I look like Nathan from the back and Justin Spring from the front.)
But besides being my doppelganger, Nathan is a really cool guy. He’s got a heart for Cambodia, having lived there for a while before coming to California for seminary. In the meantime, he’s taken a couple short-term mission teams over there again to serve. And he’s itching to go back.
What kind of girl would want to be a pastor’s wife in Cambodia? He and Christiana are a perfect fit. She went with Nathan to Cambodia, and now she’s excited to go too.
Meet Nathan and Christiana!
“One ring to rule them all…”? Nope, they had their rings inscribed with Khmer in Cambodia!
This played out a lot more dramatically in my head… lazy geese! I’m putting it up anyway to show what good sports N&C are.
He’s gonna hate this photo… 🙂
This is Christiana’s “Just you try it” face.
Nathan and Christiana, it was so fun to be a part of your wedding celebration. I know God has big things in store for both of you in the next year as you prepare to move to Cambodia! Blessings!

I first met Bobby and Amanda when I did a photo of Bobby in his firefighter uniform as a gift for his mom. Later, we did their engagement photos in Malibu – the first one on my blog.
They are such a fun couple! Just to give you an idea, here’s a joke Bobby told me at our first shoot:
Q: Why do ducks have big feet?
A: To put out forest fires.
Q: Why do elephants have big feet?
A: To put out burning ducks.
Then Bobby laughed, and Amanda smiled and shook her head. It only takes a couple minutes for anyone to feel at ease around them. Their wedding was just the same: cheerful, beautiful, and putting others first.
The vulture stare…
Grandpa.
Father daughter dance…
Bobby and Amanda, I’ve loved getting to know you over the months. You are both such special people, and I’m so glad I was able to be there when you tied the knot! God bless!

If you remember Aren and Trina from their engagement photos, you might remember that he’s a California boy and she’s an Aussie girl, with quite an interesting story of how they met, fell in love, and planned to be married from opposite hemispheres. Which might be part of why they looked forward to their wedding day with more enthusiasm than I’m used to seeing. They’ve been looking forward to this day for a really long time!
When it finally came, though, there was nothing rushed about it. Their wedding showed a lot about who they are: things like their love for God, one other, and their families. Which made it a lot of fun to photograph.
(And the fact that they’re both incredibly good looking didn’t hurt either.) 🙂
I think it’s so cool that their rings were the right size to do this…
Aren & Trina, thanks for letting me get to know you over the long months! It was a joy to be a part of your wedding. I look forward to catching you for coffee in the coming months to share where God is leading both of us. I’m so excited about your marriage! Blessings!
