Cassidy & Julie

Cassidy and Julie are both really creative, and so they wanted to do their engagement photos somewhere with architecture. It’s hard to find anything of the sort in Santa Clarita or the Valley, so we went to some of my favorite Downtonwn L.A. locations: the Disney Concert Hall, Union Station, and afterwards, Philippe’s (which, by the way, is celebrating it’s 100 year anniversary on Monday!)

But back to Cassidy and Julie… they met in the Guild, and are absolutely thrilled to be marrying each other! And after just spending a few minutes with them both, I was thrilled for them too. They’re unmistakeably marked by hope and the joy of entering a marriage where they both live for God, and put the other person first.

Thanks so much for going along with my ideas on this shoot! Your wedding was equally fun… I’ll have those photos online once we get back from Africa!

Jon & Miranda

The first place I suggested for Jon and Miranda’s engagement photos was the Getty Center. They looked at each other and broke out laughing. Obviously I hadn’t ever heard their engagement story.

Jon had planned an elaborate date at the Getty, with videographers to capture his proposal to Miranda. A serious case of food poisoning later, and Miranda was getting wheelchaired off by docents while Jon tried to tell the cameramen it was off. Eventually he got her home, and as he sat by her bed helping her eat saltines, he proposed then and there. Sure, they appreciate the elegant things, but they know true love doesn’t depend on catching the sunset or what flowers are in bloom. It’s that willingness to stick by the other person’s side no matter what. That’s just who they are.

Jon and Miranda, it was fun to spend a little time with you at the lake! Jon, I’m jealous of your ability to fall asleep the second you lay down. Miranda, thanks for helping me wake him up. Moreover, I’m so encouraged to watch your relationship with one another, and I can’t wait to watch it grow as the wedding approaches. Blessings!

Aren & Trina

One of the many things I love about photographing weddings is watching a couple’s relationships grow. When Aren and I met up last September, he could only tell me about his fiancée, Trina in Australia. After an unbearably long time on different continents and a small fortune in long distance phone calls and text messages, Trina came back here. Aren nearly burst with excitement.

They had gotten engaged on the beach here in California, so they wanted to do their engagement photos there too. Have you seen a couple happier to be together?

Aren and Trina, it’s been so fun hearing how God has deepened your love for each other over the months, and watching your patience and care for each other. I am really looking forward to your wedding in July!
