Rachel and I got to go to Connecticut for Thanksgiving to visit Erin and Brian, Rachel’s sister and brother-in-law. We had a great time enjoying some fantastic food, and some welcome cold weather. Most importantly, though, was getting to spend some family time.
Brian & Erin are expecting their first baby in March! So, since we were there, we took some fun photos to celebrate the occasion. Enjoy.
Let’s hope the baby doesn’t get these genes…
Cool trees… rocks… leaves… I love the east coast.
I’ll let you try to guess what’s actually happening here.
Brian and Erin, thanks so much for letting us stay at your home out there, and for taking such good care of us! I never got the feeling of being away from home on Thanksgiving at all. I had such a great time!
As the pastor of the singles ministry where I was involved for many years, Kurt has had been one of the most influential people in my life. So it was a great pleasure when he asked me to take photos of his beloved family.
Their kids, aka the Munch Bunch!
Kurt told me that even though he never really played ball with his dad growing up, one of his ideas of what it meant to be a father was playing catch with his son.
Not quite at as tall as dad, yet.
Collecting acorns and leaves along the way…
The Gebhards were so kind to let me be part of a special announcement to their kids. They numbered the kids 1 through 5 before telling them that they were expecting number 6…
…which Kurt thought was quite enough…
…and the kids embraced the idea of a new sibling with general approval.

To the whole Gebhards family, thanks for sharing your day with me. I learned a number of valuable lessons about what it means to be a parent just from spending that time with you. You have been a huge blessing to me!
As Jaxon and Esmeralda told me the story of their relationship, I smiled. They were asking me to photograph their wedding, so I knew that the story was going to end with them falling in love; but it sure didn’t look that way from the way the story started. Esme flatly refused Jaxon more than once… but he gently and respectfully pursued her until she was ready to open up her heart. I left with a respect for both of them, and great anticipation for their wedding (but not quite as much anticipation as they both had!)
Jaxon. He’s the man.
Esmeralda tried to tell me she’s shy, but I don’t believe it.
The ringbearer was all too eager to give Jaxon the rings.
I love this.
This shows what kind of guy Jaxon is: willing to lend his back for his best friend to write on. In this case, he’s signing Jaxon’s marriage license.
I love the glasses on the girl in the front right.Â
Another favorite!
Esme loves water.
Jaxon and Esme hosted the reception at their home. They brought in a taco truck to cater the food… soo good.
Esme came up with the idea of making the heart in the bushes
Their first dance… to Alicia Keys! I LOVED how the reception brought Jaxon’s African-American heritage together with Esmerelda’s hispanic background! They came up with a great mix of music, and everyone, regardless of their background, got into the celebration.
My flash didn’t fire on this shot of Esme and her dad, and I love how the bare bulb above them gave this shot soo much mood.
Jaxon sneaking in a peek at his new ring.
Jaxon and Esmeralda, thank you so very much for giving me the privilege of shooting your wedding day. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to get to know you, and I’m thrilled for your new life together. I really do have a lot of respect for both of you, and look forward to seeing how your marriage grows as you both follow the Lord together.
